About the Author
Robert S. Rush PhD is a retired Command Sergeant Major, who served in the US Army from 1969 to 1999. He has worked as a historian to several key policy review teams for the United States Army. He is the author of 'The Soldier's Guide 5th Edition' as well as numerous magazine articles. His PhD focused on US and German units in the Hurtgen Forest, Fall 1944. Robert currently works at the US Army Center of Military History, Fort McNair. Elizabeth Sharp trained in Fine Art at the Leicester College of Art and Technology, UK, in the 1960s. She is a full member of the Society of Women Artists and exhibits regularly in London. Elizabeth has produced artwork for clients from all over the world, but she also enjoys sculpture.

So you want to know about the Front line American Infantryman in War Two ?

A well written book about the American Grunt in WWII. In that it is obvious that the Author both knows his stuff and loves it. It (The Book) also holds no punches. As several of the made up characters used to tell the story of the various campaigns, do not end up well as so many other books do. I.e. they get killed off in the various ways one can while on campaign. All in all though I thought the book was well worth the price paid and commend it to all those with a similar interest in the PBI. (Poor Bloody Infantry)
